Introduction
The Rooftop Worker course is a one-day working-at-height safety programme designed to give learners the knowledge and practical skills to access, move around, and work safely on flat roofs, particularly when using fixed ladders and fall-protection systems.
The training teaches essential working-at-height safety principles, including understanding relevant legislation and hazards, how to assess risk before accessing a roof, and how to use personal fall-protection equipment such as harnesses and lanyards correctly.
It also covers practical elements like selecting appropriate anchor points, using fixed fall arrest and work restraint systems, lifting or lowering tools or kit, and recognising basic emergency and rescue considerations.
This type of course is suitable for anyone whose role involves regularly working on or accessing flat roofs and needs a solid foundation in safe roof-working practices — whether that’s in telecommunications, construction, maintenance or facility management.
