Environmental Policy

 

Introduction

XI Training’s environmental policy lays down firm standards covering every aspect of the organisation’s activities. As a responsible employer and provider of services we will:

• Conform to, and where appropriate exceed, the requirements of all relevant legislation and compliance obligations as stated in the compliance register.
• Establish work standards that will promote the use of environmentally friendly processes and materials such as use of bio friendly cleaning products to maintain integrity of the septic tank.
• Promote reduction in the consumption of all materials whilst encouraging re-use and re-cycling wherever possible. For example cardboard packaging for goods received will be re-used where possible for packing of outgoing orders.
• Incorporate energy efficiency into products, services and facilities we utilise, and manage energy in all areas of our business. For example The Xi training building was constructed with energy efficiency in mind. External walls are packed with insulation and an additional air gap incorporated for additional thermal insulation. Also the windows have outwardly reflective glass to minimise heat loss.
• Continually strive to prevent pollution and reduce the level of harmful emissions through our undertakings and minimise waste at all times. For example vehicle CO2 emissions will be considered when purchasing replacement vehicles. Maximum permitted will be 160g/Km. Cooking oil used in the cafe fryers is re-cycled when spent via a re-cycling company that uses the re-cycled oil for transport vehicle fuel.
• Try to use business suppliers who minimise the impact of their activities on the environment, and work with supplier to achieve that aim. Products will be purchased locally where possible to minimise travel. The company is situated close to the M6 motorway.
• Promote environmental awareness, and responsibilities with all of XI Training employees and ensure those issues are included in training programmes throughout the company
• At all times be a good neighbour through open relationships with public authorities, the private sector and the community as a whole
• Monitor the effectiveness of the management system through measurable objectives which can be found in the Business Objectives document.

 

 

XI Training will strive to meet all the above aims and continually look for ways of improving their work methods/procedures to aid the environment we live and work in.
